Impact windows are a laminated-glass system engineered to survive a hurricane's flying debris and pressure without breaching — keeping wind and water out even when the glass cracks. Because we're a licensed Florida General Contractor, we don't just drop in windows: we confirm the right product approval for your county, spec the design pressure to your exposure, pull the permit, and hand you the documentation your inspector and insurer will want.
Why homeowners choose them
Six reasons impact windows pay off
Storm protection
Rated to survive the large-missile test, so a breached opening never lets wind pressurize your home.
Insurance credits
Can qualify your home for wind-mitigation premium credits. We supply the OIR-1802 documentation; your carrier confirms the amount.
Energy savings
Low-E, insulated laminated glass reduces heat gain and eases the load on your AC year-round.
24/7 security
The same laminated interlayer that stops debris makes forced entry far harder than ordinary glass.
Noise reduction
Laminated glass dampens street, aircraft, and neighborhood noise noticeably.
UV protection
Blocks the vast majority of UV, protecting floors, furniture, and artwork from fading.
Styles we install
The right window for every opening
The South Florida standard — bottom sash slides up. Clean, cost-effective, widely available in impact ratings.
Sashes glide side to side — ideal for wide openings and easy operation.
Crank-out sash for maximum ventilation and a tight weather seal — great for kitchens and hard-to-reach spots.
Hinged at the top; opens outward to let air in even during light rain.
Non-operating for unobstructed views and the highest design-pressure ratings.
Arches, geometrics, and made-to-measure shapes to match any elevation.
Compliance, done right
The approval depends on your county
This is where a lot of companies get it wrong. In the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone — Miami-Dade and Broward — your windows need a Miami-Dade NOA (or an HVHZ-rated Florida Product Approval). In Palm Beach, which is a Wind-Borne Debris Region and not HVHZ, the correct standard is a Florida Product Approval (FL#) rated for your design pressure. We match the product to your address and document it at permitting.
Brands we install
Premium manufacturers — we're the installer, not the factory
We install the impact windows homeowners trust, and we'll help you pick the line that fits your exposure and budget:
Make it affordable
Financing, the grant & insurance credits
You may not have to pay for this all at once — or entirely out of pocket. PACE financing can cover 100% with no money down; the My Safe Florida Home grant can fund a large share of a qualifying project; and documented impact windows can qualify you for wind-mitigation insurance credits. We'll map out which apply to you during your free assessment.
Common questions
Impact window FAQ
Do impact windows really lower my insurance?
They can. Properly documented impact windows may qualify your home for wind-mitigation credits on the windstorm portion of your policy. The exact savings depend on your carrier, policy, and home — we provide the wind-mitigation (OIR-1802) documentation, and your insurer confirms your figure. We never promise a specific number.
How much do impact windows cost?
It varies with the number and size of openings, the window styles, the brand, and the design pressure your exposure requires — a beachfront home needs higher-rated (and pricier) units than an inland one. That's why we quote after a free assessment rather than guessing. We'll also show you financing and grant options that change the out-of-pocket math.
Impact windows or hurricane shutters?
Shutters cost less upfront but have to be put up before every storm and taken down after, and they don't add energy, noise, or UV benefits. Impact windows are permanent, always protecting, and typically qualify for better insurance credits. For most homeowners planning to stay in the home, impact windows win over time.
Do I need a permit — and what approval applies to me?
Yes, impact window installation requires a permit, and we pull it. The product approval depends on your county: a Miami-Dade NOA in Miami-Dade and Broward (the HVHZ), or a Florida Product Approval in Palm Beach. We verify the current, active approval and document it for inspection.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are installed in one to a few days once your windows are manufactured, depending on the number of openings. Manufacturing lead time varies by brand and season; we give you a realistic timeline with your quote.
